Moving From Idaho to Oregon
As the end of the year approaches, I've been reflecting on this eventful 2023. Who could have guessed how it would unfold? We started in Idaho, in the house we'd just bought, and now we're living in Oregon, in a fifth wheel! Wild, right?
My husband, Casey Rollins, and I dedicated 2023 to preparing for parenthood. That was our whole plan. We'd just bought a house the summer before, one we could raise a couple of kids in and then turn into a rental later. Proud of us!
I entered 2023 ready to catapult my real estate business. In January, I joined a Women's Leadership Lounge to kickstart that growth. There, I took a leap of faith by signing up for their 3-month coaching program (something I'd dabbled in before, but never at this level). And guess what? Because I signed up, I won a free ticket to their retreat in Sedona, AZ! What?! If that's not the universe saying you're on the right path, I don't know what is.
That program absolutely transformed my business. I had my first-ever $18,000 month! In fact, I closed three houses the same weekend I went to Sedona for the retreat! I was on top of the world in one of the most stunning and powerful places I'd ever been. I don't think I can truly express the impact of that experience with those incredible women. I even had the opportunity to try a plant medicine journey with a Shaman – but that's a story for another time.
While there, we wrote out our business plans and brainstormed creative ways to grow our individual companies. That's where we came up with the idea of teaching women wealth creation at a retreat! I hired them as 1:1 coaches that same weekend! I'm on the right path and feeling good about the coming grind.
A few weeks later, my husband received an amazing job offer in Oregon. We carefully weighed the pros and cons of changing course and moving back. Yes, the job offer was great, but was it worth moving for? We decided yes! Both our families are there, and if we're truly getting ready to start a family, it would be the perfect time to be closer to them.
We had to get creative and flexible. Casey left first to start his new job. I stayed home to run my real estate business, prepare the house for rent, and figure out housing in Oregon. We didn't have the money to buy a house right away, having just bought one a year ago. I didn't want to be stuck in a lease, and we have two cats and a dog. Our ultimate goal was to move to Oregon, save money, and eventually buy a duplex/triplex to live in. But we decided to take a different path and move into a fifth wheel! Honestly, the timing of everything for this to work out was unbelievable – it all lined up perfectly. We bought a fifth wheel from some good friends, found a renter for our first investment property, and moved to Oregon.
Now, we're both working on ourselves, our marriage, and building generational wealth, all while living in a fifth wheel on a beautiful piece of property.
